Multi-channel

WhatsApp channel

Meta Cloud API · template-gated · STOP detection · India-first.

WhatsApp outbound runs through a WhatsApp Business sender on the Meta Cloud API or Twilio WhatsApp. Every outbound message is template-gated and opt-in is enforced per Meta policy, with STOP keyword detection wired into the same cross-channel DNC list the other channels use.

The problem

Why most WhatsApp Business accounts get suspended

WhatsApp opens a 24-hour conversation window only after a recipient messages first OR after a Meta-approved template lands. Marketing templates get suspended fast for unsolicited use. One bad batch and your number is gone — sometimes permanently.

  • Template approval pending for two weeks with no feedback
  • WhatsApp Business account suspended overnight
  • First-touch templates rejected by Meta review
  • Opt-in trail nowhere to be found when audit hits

How it works

The detail.

Template approval is the law, not a guideline

WhatsApp's 24-hour conversation window only opens after a recipient messages first, OR after a Meta-approved template lands. Marketing templates get suspended fast for unsolicited use. Autocloz only allows approved templates on first touch — no exceptions.

One sequence, with WhatsApp as a step

A WhatsApp template step sits in the same sequence as email, SMS, calls and LinkedIn, and replies are read in the Unibox under WhatsApp. Each plan sets a daily WhatsApp volume: 250 messages on Free, 1,500 on Growth, 7,500 on Pro and 50,000 on Scale.

Compliance built in — keep your sender alive

Per-number caps, opt-in enforcement, STOP keyword auto-DNC, and Meta-policy template gating combine to keep your WhatsApp Business account in good standing. We refuse to dispatch through a sender we cannot verify is healthy.

Anti-ban rules

The rules that keep your account alive.

Every rule below is enforced before any outbound action. The compliance gate either passes or it doesn’t dispatch.

  • Refuse to send any non-approved template on first touch
Why: First-touch outside an approved template = instant Meta policy violation; suspension follows within 24 hours.
  • Enforce opt-in flag (require_consent=ON by default)
Why: WhatsApp Business policy requires demonstrable opt-in; we won't dispatch without one.
  • Auto-DNC on STOP / UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL keyword
Why: Meta deactivates senders that ignore opt-out. STOP propagates to email, SMS, call, and LinkedIn under the same lead.
  • Daily cap default 50 messages per number
Why: Meta tier-1 senders start at 1k/day cap; ramping to that level requires consistent quality scores.
  • Quiet hours in recipient TZ
Why: Off-hours business messages tank quality scores even faster than spam — Meta scores 'recipient annoyance' explicitly.

FAQ

Specific to this feature.

Who pays for WhatsApp messages sent through Autocloz?

+

Meta does the billing. When you connect through Meta, message charges go to the payment method you add to your own WhatsApp Business account, and Autocloz does not resell conversations. Your plan only sets the daily volume.

How long does Meta template approval take?

+

24–72 hours typically. Marketing templates are stricter than utility — keep the copy useful, not pitchy. Autocloz tracks pending templates and surfaces rejections with the reason.

Can I message anyone on WhatsApp?

+

No — Meta requires opt-in. The legal safe play is consent at lead capture (form / email / verbal), tracked in your CRM. Autocloz enforces require_consent=ON by default.

What about WhatsApp for international (US / EU)?

+

Same Meta API, same template gating. WhatsApp adoption is lower in US than India, so blend with email + SMS rather than leading with WhatsApp.
